on the website and in the village....
Did you know there are 379 words and phrases to be made
from TOLLESBURY VILLAGE. Make a post to the site………..watch
round the village for strange words………………
|
| |
|
| It would
be great if all the groups that meet in the village run
their own craft sessions with the blank boats and pendants
to exhibit in the final exhibition – Leaders ring Lorraine
for supplies who will also come along to help if required.
Go on – take the plunge……… |

SAIL PAINTING.
Come along and splodge, stick, draw, hand print, paint
and generally have fun painting a full size sail which
will then form part of the final exhibition. Sail Painting
will take place at The Centre (Congregational Church)
on 29th and 30th March, 26th and 27th April from 10.30
am to 4pm.

|
TREE SHADOWS.
Great family activity - try your hand at making full size
tree shapes out of recycled bark - get creative and use
other materials to decorate the tree. Photos will be taken
of the work which will form part of the final exhibition.
Tree Shadows will take place on the Recreational Ground
(subject to permission) on 10th and 11th May from 10.30am
until 4pm. |
|
DRY GARDEN.
Help build a dry garden out of railway sleepers, plant
up and decorate with oyster shells. Come to Woodrolfe
Green (subject to permisssion) on 24th May between 10.30am
to 4pm. Men - a bit of brawn needed here if you can help
out!

 |
EMPTY ROOM.
Clive proposes that there is NOTHING MORE BEAUTIFUL THAN
AN EMPTY ROOM - do you agree, think it a load of tosh,
think it an interesting thought??? Come along, talk to
Clive, perhaps bring something that you think much more
beautiful than an empty room! This activity just needs
you to respond - you definitely don't need to be arty
here……11am to 4pm on 19th and 20th April at……………………

FLAGS AND PENDANTS
Easy activity - we'll give you the materials so you can
create your own masterpiece! Cut, stick, sew, paint, print,
use whatever means you like. Make a family flag, a flag
for Tollesbury or your own individual flag. MATERIALS
CAN BE COLLECTED FROM LORRAINE TO MAKE YOUR FLAG AT HOME
OR IN YOUR GROUP (flag can be any size) or you can use
your own materials All flags and pendants will be used
as decoration for the final exhibition. So please return
your work to Lorraine, by 19th May at 22 Mell Road, with
your name and telephone number on the back. Special flag
making day for families during school holidays,Tuesday
May 1st at The Centre (Congregational Church) 10.30am
to 3.30pm.

SMALL BOATS.
Another easy activity for all ages - perhaps let the designer
in you run wild when you decorate the blank shapes - 3D
and 2D, 15cm(6") blank MDF shapes are available from Lorraine
- you can decorate them in any way you wish so once again
no drawing or artistic ability needed…….. I did promise
you at the top of the page it was all easy…….The idea
here is to have 100s (yes I'm forever the optimistic)
of small boats to make a stunning display during the exhibition
weekend. Small boats to be returned to Lorraine, by 24th
May at 22 Mell Road, with your name and telephone number
on the back or bottom. Special boat decorating day for
families during school holidays,Tuesday May 6th at The
Centre (Congregational Church) 10.30am to 3.30pm.

A
DAY IN THE LIFE OF TOLLESBURY
Record any day or aspect of the day in any way that you
want - take a picture, write a story, paint, sketch, make
a video - just go for it……. Your work will then form a
presentation on the web site You can enter you video,
slideshow or written word entry online
here. The idea here to have a permanent record
of what happens, or doesn't happen, in Tollesbury. All
work needs to be with Lorraine at 22 Mell Road by 12th
May. Need help to get started, phone Lorraine or come
to chat at The Centre, Congregational Church on 15th March
between 12.30 and 2.30. A camcorder is available to borrow.
